This new ZL1 is pretty damn sharp. 640hp LT4 with either a 6 speed manual or 10 speed auto (finally, a 10 speed :p), this is gonna be an interesting next couple of years for sure.

I’m loving the new Camaro more and more every time I see it.

How do you even run in tenth without stalling though??? Most 8-speed cars nowadays can reach their top speed in 5th gear anyway, so isn't 3 overdrive gears a little much? It's all so stupid. Screw CAFE BS and the EPA too.

It’s not three overdrive gears. The gearing is much closer than on your average six-speed. I would assume that the car skips gears during hard acceleration and uses the in-between gears to keep the car closer to the most efficient rpm while cruising.

I’m confused... The last four gears all have the same top speed. How aren’t they overdrive? The existence of so many extra gears seems kinda pointless.

I think it looks ugly in comparison to the 5th gen ZL1 that got the late-model tail lights from the Camaro refresh.

Maybe the design will grow on me. I don’t think it will, however...my tastes on modern design has hit a wall on cars introduced in the past few years.

I just mean in general. All this downsizing bullshit -caused in no small part by their regulations - pisses me off. I’m not trying to say that a 640 hp car that gets 20 mpg is a bad thing at all.

Not sure what you mean by weird. It’s normal for a sunroof to reduce headroom. Sure, if you stick your head into the sunroof portion you might have space, but that just means you have to drive with your head canted at an angle all the time. The rest of the car will have less headroom. Being tall, I find it somewhat annoying that so many cars seem to default to having sunroofs nowadays.

This looks like an unholy beast of a car, and optioning it so there’s less space for a helmet would make me sad.

Right - that’s why the Camaro has less headroom with a sunroof. Just seems illogical to me for them not to have the sunroof slide outside of the roof, given the limited headroom. In a Tesla, for example, everyone gets the sunroof for the headroom.

I would think the whole ceiling would be lower so it’s a smooth transition. The one car I had with a sunroof was positioned so it would dump water in your lap after a rain. But if it’s behind your head, how would the sunroof add headroom? Not sure what car this one’s on, but you can see how much thicker the headliner has to be to house it.

So, there’s no doubt that the headliner behind/in front of your head would be lower here, but wouldn’t the sunroof be right above your head...thus increasing headroom?
